EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A man in his 50s is in custody following a shooting in Northeast El Paso, resulting in another man in his 40s being in critical condition, according to the El Paso Police Department on Wednesday, Sept. 3.
Police responded to the 10300 block of Windsor Drive near Sun Valley Drive after they received an emergency call at 7:54 p.m.
EPPD Public Information Officer Judy Oviedo spoke with KTSM 9 News, saying that the call was initially reported as an assault.
When officers arrived, they found a man in his 40s who suffered from a gunshot wound, Oviedo said. A man in his 50s was taken into custody.
Oviedo said that investigators believe there was a dispute between neighbors.
KTSM 9 Crews on scene saw an individual in handcuffs and escorted to the back of a police vehicle. When asked about this individual, Oviedo said many people are being interviewed, since there were a lot of people involved in the situation.

Crimes Against Persons unit has been called to the scene and assumed the investigation.
Red police crime tape was placed in the area as police investigated, and Oviedo said the area will be closed off for several hours.
