A person died in a rollover crash on Loop 1604 near Helotes, leading to road closures and traffic delays, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.
SAN ANTONIO — A person died Wednesday evening after being ejected from a vehicle during a rollover crash on Loop 1604 near Helotes, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.
The crash happened just before 5 p.m. in the 9100 block of North Loop 1604 West.
Officials say the crash involved a single vehicle and one person was reportedly ejected. CPR was started at the scene, but the person was pronounced deceased.
TxDOT reported Loop 1604 was closed between FM 1560/Hausman Road and TX-16 because of the rollover crash. Traffic is backed up to I-10 and U.S. 87.
The frontage road was also heavily congested, with traffic at a standstill. TxDOT advised drivers to expect delays of more than two hours.
Additional details about the crash were not immediately available.
This marks the third fatal accident along Loop 1604 in one day.
