CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A house fire broke out today in a neighborhood near Miller High School on Wednesday afternoon.
Flames could be seen shooting from the home near the corner of Southland Dr. and Westgate Dr.
Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control quickly before it could spread to other homes in the area.

“Crews arrived and attacked the fire from front of the structure,” said Assistant Fire Chief Tony Perez. “Single resident was on scene and already outside of structure. No injuries to civilians or (firefighters).
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
