Ranked a top Texas employer for 2026, Plano shares the spotlight with tech giants like Microsoft, Google, Samsung and local titan Toyota North America.
PLANO, Texas — The City of Plano has been named one of the top city employers in Texas on Forbes’ 2026 list of America’s Best Employers By State.
Plano ranked third among city employers and 72nd among all Texas employers included on the list.
Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to develop the annual rankings, surveying more than 245,000 employees nationwide who work for organizations with at least 500 employees.

The rankings highlight Plano’s strong footprint as a major corporate and municipal employment center in North Texas. Toyota North America maintains its headquarters in Plano, while Samsung recently announced it is moving its U.S. headquarters to Plano from New Jersey.

Employees were also surveyed on how likely they were to recommend their employer to others. Across the United States, 1,365 employers made the 2026 list.
Earlier this year, Plano was ranked as the seventh best city in the U.S. for jobs, the highest ranking for a Texas city, according to WalletHub. Austin, Irving and Grand Prairie also cracked the top 25 nationwide.
