A second suspect is on the run, police say
SAN ANTONIO – A man was shot and killed Thursday night during an East Side home invasion attempt, according to San Antonio police.
Officers responded to a shooting call after 9 p.m. in the 1200 block of Hays Street and found a man with apparent gunshot wounds, SAPD said.
Police believe the encounter stemmed from a home invasion attempt near Lamar and St. Charles Street, where the homeowner exchanged gunfire with two suspects.
One man, who police believe is a suspect, was shot and fled to a home on Hays Street where he was pronounced dead, SAPD said.
The homeowner was also shot and taken to a local hospital, SAPD said.
A second suspect is on the run and remains at large, according to police.
