A parent was removed from a Fort Worth school district community meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at Arlington Heights High School, after he said he was just voicing his concerns.
A video posted by FWISD Watchdog on Facebook shows security officers escorting Daniel Woolford out of a strategic action session hosted by Superintendent Peter Licata.
A spokesperson from the district said he was removed for disrupting the meeting and using profanity.
Woolford told Star-Telegram media partner WFAA Channel 8 that he came to the meeting concerned over instructional methods being used at his daughter’s school. Woolford said he used an expletive one time.
“Five-year-olds like my daughter being subject to, say, through four hours straight of PowerPoints every single day,” Woolford told WFAA.
In the video, that now has almost over 1,500 interactions, several parents are heard saying “He’s done nothing.”
Licata has held several strategic action sessions in the district in conjunction with the Board of Manager’s listening sessions to get feedback about district goals.
