SAN ANTONIO — A man is in the hospital after being shot in the neck early Friday morning while driving on the city’s East Side, according to San Antonio police.

Emergency crews responded at around 12:03 a.m. to the intersection of South W.W. White Road and Lord Road after initial reports of an injured or sick person.

According to police, the driver reported traveling along Lord Road when he heard a loud pop and suddenly felt blood running down his neck. The victim managed to pull his vehicle into a nearby parking lot along South W.W. White Road to call for help.

EMS transported the man to Brooke Army Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the neck. He is reported to be in stable condition.

No suspect information has been released.
