SAN ANTONIO – SNAP recipients who lost food when Friday’s storm knocked out power may qualify for replacement benefits, according to the San Antonio Food Bank.
Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) staff are working with the food bank to help residents apply for additional SNAP benefits.
HHSC staff will be available at the San Antonio Food Bank from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.

The San Antonio Food Bank’s Neighbor Services team is also available by phone to assist residents with storm-related food and benefits questions.
The team can be reached at 210-431-8326 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
The food bank set up five pop-up locations plus its main campus on Monday, but emergency response started hours after the storm on Saturday.
Food bank leaders told KSAT the demand is high.
