A northeast Fort Worth high school was placed on secure status Friday morning while police investigate a social media threat, officials said.
Fort Worth police said on Facebook about 10:40 a.m. that they had “not located any active threat” at Amon Carter-Riverside High School, but the department’s School Resource Unit was at the scene and actively investigating.
The school, located at 3301 Yucca Ave., was put on secure status as a precaution, according to the post.
Fort Worth ISD officials sent a message to families Friday morning to make them aware of the incident.
“All students and staff are safe at this time,” the message reads. “School administrators and appropriate authorities are actively investigating the situation.”
The district promised a thorough investigation and said they would send more information later if necessary.
“FWPD takes all threats seriously and encourage everyone that if you see something, say something,” police said in the Facebook post.
