Lubbock Animal Services releases weekly metrics

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – City of Lubbock Animal Services released its weekly metrics report for Aug. 28 through Sept. 3.

Call volume

The department received 867 total phone calls. Of those, 67 calls came in on the field services line and 800 came in to the front desk.

Field operations ran a total of 565 calls. Field services ran 354 original calls, and rechecks, follow-ups and officer assist calls accounted for 211 calls.

A total of 287 calls were placed on hold, with an average hold time of 2 minutes, 10 seconds.

There were 50 aggressive animal calls and 37 animal welfare calls.

Spays, neuters and adoptions

Animal Services reported 48 spays and neuters performed in house and 23 performed at vet clinics.

The department reported 48 dog adoptions and 19 cat adoptions.

Seven animals were transported to other shelters around the country.

Eleven dogs and one cat were returned to their owners.

Other programs and population

The department logged 16 “Doggie Day Out” outings and 10 sleepovers.

Total intakes for the week were 187.

The current dog population is 234, against a design capacity of 359.
