CORPUS CHRISTI – The Woodsboro Eagles rode a strong ground game to a 33-16 victory on Thursday, Sept. 3 over the Corpus Christi John Paul II Centurions, rushing for 232 yards and finishing with 255 yards of total offense.
Connor Scrimpsher led the Eagles, carrying 15 times for 97 yards and three touchdowns. His longest run went for 18 yards.
Bowen Stockton added 57 yards on five carries, including a 56-yard run, while Gabriel Davila rushed seven times for 46 yards. Zayne Hadden contributed 15 yards on three carries and scored a touchdown.
The Eagles (1-1) will host the Pettus Eagles at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11.
