WOLFFORTH, Texas (KCBD) – One week after opening with a 49-14 win over Frenship Memorial, the No. 7 Lubbock-Cooper Liberty Patriots completed another successful trip to Peoples Bank Stadium. This time, they overpowered the Frenship Tigers 44-13 in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
The Tigers struck first with a TD score from QB James Ordonez to to Zade McClure but from there, Liberty QB Cy Leach took control and went on a 44-6 win to end the game.
The Patriots are this week’s End Zone “Team of the Week”, and their interview will be featured Sunday evening.
Next Friday, Liberty will try to go 3-0 as Midland Greenwood comes to town. Last year, the Rangers handed the Patriots their only regular season loss.
