A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle early Friday, Sept. 4, while trying to cross Jacksboro Highway, Fort Worth police say.

A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle early Friday while trying to cross Jacksboro Highway, Fort Worth police said.

The driver of an eastbound vehicle didn’t see the pedestrian until it was too late, according to police. The woman, who hasn’t been publicly identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office, died at the scene.

Police said the driver of the vehicle stopped to render aid. Officers with the Traffic Investigations Unit were looking into the details surrounding the accident.

More details about the crash were not immediately available.
