SAN ANTONIO — A man was hospitalized early Friday after he was shot in the neck while driving on the city’s east side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

SAPD said officers and emergency crews were called to the area of South W.W. White Road and Lord Road just after midnight.

When EMS arrived, they found an adult male with a gunshot wound to the neck, SAPD said.

The victim told officers he was driving on Lord Road when he heard a “pop” and then realized blood was running down his neck, according to police. He continued driving and pulled into a parking lot near South W.W. White Road, where he called for help.

Officials said the man was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition.
