Man sentenced to 40 years for sexual abuse of children, DA’s office says

SAN ANTONIO – A man was sentenced to 40 years in prison for sexual abuse of children, according to the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office.

Bryce Chatland, 58, was sentenced Tuesday in the 226th District Court.

Chatland pleaded guilty on July 8, 2026, to multiple counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child and possession of child pornography, according to the DA’s office.

In June 2023, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office received reports from victims who said Chatland had sexually assaulted them for more than seven years, the DA’s office said. Investigators later found videos of the victims Chatland recorded using hidden cameras.
