KSAT 12 Sports and CHRISTUS Children’s shine a spotlight on a local senior student athlete.
SAN ANTONIO – Meet KSAT 12’s newest Scholar Athlete of the Week: Genesis Medrano from Holy Cross High School.
Genesis is a shortstop and pitcher on the varsity softball team and is an athletic trainer. She was named First-Team All-District three years in a row and was named First-Team All-State her junior season.
She’s a member of the National Honor Society, the Student Council, Eucharistic Ministry, Music Ministry, Campus Ministry, Women’s Ministry, the Texas Thespian Scholar Troupe and is a Moreau Scholar. She also volunteers with food bank drives.
Genesis maintains a 4.0 grade point average and is ranked fifth in her class. Genesis plans to play collegiate softball at St. Edward’s University in Austin, where she will major in kinesiology.
