Haltom City – Anna Sue Johnson, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and friend went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 31st, 2026 at the age of 89. Visitation: 6-8 pm Friday, Sept. 11, 2026 at Mount Olivet in the Sandburg Suite. Funeral Service: 9:30 am Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026 in Mount Olivet Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials made to “A Wish with Wings” Born on March 18, 1937, in Crosby Mississippi, she lived a long and special life marked by her faith, independence, creativity and devotion to her family. Anna was the beloved daughter of the late Edward Thomas McCain and Mozelle Miller. She was a woman of strong Christian faith who prayed without ceasing. She trusted God throughout the seasons of her life and found comfort in in His promises. Her faith guided the way she lived – through both joyful and difficult times. Born an optimist, just like her Daddy, she took great pride in that part of who she was. She had a remarkable ability to look forward rather than dwell on what was difficult. Her resilience, positive spirit, and determination carried her through the many seasons of her long life. Anna was also an accomplished and independent woman who worked outside the home when relatively few women did. Throughout her working life, she taught preschool, held sewing classes inside her home, worked in administrative positions in business, banking and the oil and gas industry. She balanced all of her responsibilities while also caring deeply for her own family. Anna was also deeply creative who found joy in making beautiful things. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and painting all self-taught and mastered. Later in life, she discovered a special joy in dancing, embracing the music and friendships while pursuing a hobby that brought her great joy. Anna leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, traditions and cherished memories that will continue through the generations. She is survived by her two daughters, Julie Johnson Greene and Penny Johnson Hill and their husbands David and Alan, Six Grandsons and 13 Great-Grandchildren, extended family and friends who were blessed by her. Although our hearts are heavy now with her absence, we are comforted in knowing she is now in Heaven, where she will have no more pain or sorrow. We are so grateful for the many years God gave us with her and for the memories that will remain in our hearts forever.
