21-year-old shot to death after small SUV follows him into Northwest Side parking lot

SAN ANTONIO — A 21-year-old man was shot multiple times without warning three months ago at a Northwest Side strip mall after investigators say he was followed there by someone in a small SUV.

The shooting happened just after 10:30 p.m. on June 5 in the parking lot of strip mall off Vance Jackson Road near Denton Drive.

Investigators said the victim was followed into the parking lot by a small SUV. The SUV approached him from behind, and someone inside opened fire, hitting the 21-year-old several times.

The victim died from his injuries.

Investigators have not said whether the victim knew the shooter or why he may have been targeted.

No arrests have been made, and investigators are still working to identify the shooter.
