Several Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations will soon take place throughout Fort Worth and Tarrant County.
Here are some events to show your pride through Oct. 11:
Discover power of Latin artists at 3 Sundance Square exhibitions
Fort Worth artist Brenda Melgoza Ciardiello has her own solo show “Ascendencia” at Zona 7 Gallery. Dallas-based Antonio Lechuga and San Francisco’s Arleene Correa Valencia come together for “Merging Threads” at Caravan of Dreams Gallery. 12 North Texas creatives showcase their paper and textile works at “Hecho a Mano” at 400H Gallery. All shows are within walking distance.

Honor Mexican Independence Day at ‘Fiestas Patrias Parade’
Charros, escaramuzas, dancing horses, Latino organizations and more will make their way through the Fort Worth Stockyards in honor of the holiday celebrated on Sept. 16.
When: 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Sept. 13
Where: East Exchange Avenue, Fort Worth

Experience equestrian sports at ‘Spirit of Mexico’
The rodeo brings together Mexican charrería, folklórico dance, rodeo competition and live regional music under one roof.
When: 1:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13
Where: Cowtown Coliseum, 121 E. Exchange Ave., Fort Worth

Hear traditional Mexican gritó at ‘Fiestas Patrias’
The Consul General of Mexico in Dallas and La Gran Plaza de Fort Worth commemorate Mexico’s Independence Day. The event includes high school marching bands, mariachis and folklórico groups.

Learn about diverse cultures at ‘Tour of Latin America’
The Fort Worth Public Library is spotlighting different Latin American countries at 12 community events throughout its city branches. Activities range from making piñatas to basket-weaving to paper plate tambourines.

Pick your favorite Mexican ingredients at ‘Taquiza’
Learn to cook your own delicious tacos with fish, chicken, pork and steak in an intimate class. Guests will enjoy a wine of glass to complement the dish.

Show cultural pride at ‘¡Celebramos! Latin American Flag Parade’
The Fort Worth Botanic Garden kicks off its month of celebration with a parade that invites guests to represent their country of origin. The event features a performance from Abuelos Folklórico.

Cruise through downtown at ‘Car & Culture Show’
Sundance Square’s annual car show is back to spotlight the lowrider community and their customized cars. Members of the Duke’s Car Club will be there to show off their hot rods.

Savor Chilean flavors at ‘Grand Fonda Donde la Nino’
Taste traditional Chilean dishes, shop cultural vendors and enjoy family-friendly activities. Starting at 8 p.m., the event will transition for ages 21 and up looking to dance and drink alcoholic drinks.
When: 1 p.m.-12:45 a.m. Sept. 19

Secure limited-edition shirt at ‘Texas Rangers – Hispanic Heritage Night’
The baseball game against the Toronto Blue Jays will have special Texas Rangers Hispanic Heritage Guayaberas. Guests are encouraged to arrive early as sizes are limited.

Enjoy symphonic tunes at ‘Music of the Spanish Language!’
Timeless Concerts brings together a piano quintet and viola solo for a performance of Spanish composer Joaquin Turina’s “Scene Andalouse.” The concert will be repeated at 2 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.

Global Latin music icon stops in Cowtown for ‘Bailemos Otra Vez Tour’
Puerto Rican superstar Chayanne, who has sold more than 15 million records worldwide, offers a rare chance for his American fans to hear him live during his Fort Worth stop.

Watch influential Chicano movies at ‘A Celebration of Filmmaker and Playwright Luis Valdez’
The Reel House Foundation hosts a two-part screening of “I Am Joaquin” and “Zoot Suit” from Luis Valdez. The filmmaker is often regarded as the father of Chicano theater and film.

Listen to local Latin performers at ‘5th Annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration’
Mike Gonzalez and the Iconiczz are headlining the popular Arlington event alongside Chikis y Su Gran Sonora.

Travel to Latin American countries at ‘Celebra Grapevine: Passports to Culture’
Journey through the art, food, music and traditions that make up the Grapevine community. The event concludes with Lucha Libre, Mexican wrestling.

Show off your best cumbia dance moves at ‘Bidi Bidi Back to the Park’
Sonidos del Summer returns to Northside’s Marine Park with a tribute to Tejano music legend Selena Quintanilla-Perez. Fun fact: Selena performed at the park in 1993.
When: 5-10 p.m. Oct. 10

Drink your favorite beer at ‘Michelada Festival’
Taste different michelada recipes to find out which is the best. A michelada is a Mexican cocktail that mixes beer with lime, sauce and spices. A winner will be announced at 7 p.m.
