EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The El Paso Animal Services rescued a kitten after it became trapped 20 feet down a pipe.
In a social media post, El Paso Animal Services stated that it responded to 658 calls in one week, adding that one of the calls was from a good Samaritan who had spotted a kitten trapped inside a utility pipe surrounded by rainwater and trash.

According to El Paso Animal Services, the rescue officer lowered a rope into the pipe, and when the kitten grabbed onto it, the officer was able to pull him out to safety.

Back at the shelter, the kitten was cleaned up and evaluated.
The Good Samaritan who called it in ended up adopting the kitten.
In the post, El Paso Animal Services wrote,
A kitten who started his life in a dark pipe is now getting the chance to grow up surrounded by love.
El Paso Animal Services also wanted to remind people that if they see an animal sick, injured, or in danger, to call 311.
