After a kitchen fire, Plano firefighters were able to quickly save a cat, reuniting it with its owner.
PLANO, Texas — It was a crisis averted in Plano Tuesday night after Plano firefighters were able to make a quick save of a cat stuck in a burning apartment.
Firefighters responded around 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, to a kitchen fire in a multi-story apartment complex, the department said in a statement. Thankfully, the resident was able to immediately alert firefighters to the cat stuck in the burning apartment.
Firefighters were able to locate the cat in less than ten minutes and reunite it with its owner. The cat appeared to be healthy aside from a very disturbed look on its face.
The cat’s owner reached out to identify the cat as Theodore. We can confirm he is doing well and has been reunited with his owner, Nicole.
Only one person was displaced due to smoke, water, and fire damage. Other apartments only suffered minor damage due to the apartment’s sprinkler system.
“Grateful everyone made it out safely, and the fire was brought under control swiftly!” the department said.
