SAN ANTONIO — A teenager is hospitalized after police said he was shot while walking home early Tuesday on the Far Southwest Side.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. near Bynum and Briggs avenues.

Police said the teen was walking home from a store when a blue truck pulled up. Someone inside fired three shots, striking him once in the leg.

The teen was able to walk back toward his home and call for help. EMS met him near Nimitz and took him to University Hospital in stable condition.

Police said the victim told officers he knows the two suspects, but does not know their names. He said they are also high school students.

The suspects fled in the blue truck. The investigation remains ongoing.
