SAN ANTONIO – Drivers returning from Labor Day weekend trips may find higher-than-expected prices at the pump.
Gas prices reached their highest level ever recorded for the Labor Day holiday, creating added pressure for families who tried to fit in one final summer road trip.
The increase is tied in part to disruptions connected to the conflict with Iran. Reduced traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has continued to put pressure on global energy markets and fuel prices.
San Antonio drivers are seeing some relief compared with other parts of the country, however.
Some of the lowest prices in the area are on the West Side, where gas was selling for about $3.27 a gallon at the Murphy Express off Culebra Road, the H-E-B off Grissom Road and the Walmart off Military Drive.
