Southerly winds of 10 to 15 mph will keep conditions dry through Tuesday afternoon. Overnight lows will remain seasonably warm, settling mostly in the low to mid 70s — about 5 to 10 degrees above normal for early September.

Storm chances return late week
A cold front is expected to arc into the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles by Wednesday, but current forecast models keep any associated precipitation north of the area through Wednesday afternoon.
The pattern begins to shift Wednesday evening into Thursday, when isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible with a 20 to 40 percent chance of development. Any storms that form could bring lightning and strong wind gusts as the main hazards.
