SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Food Bank will receive 464,600 eggs as part of a statewide distribution of more than 7 million free eggs that were secured through settlements with three national egg producers, Attorney General Ken Paxton announced Tuesday.
A spokesperson with the food bank said they have already received the first shipment of three consisting of 280,800 eggs. The second truck is scheduled for delivery on September 9 and the third on September 17.
The eggs will be distributed to families throughout the San Antonio Food Bank’s 29-county service area through a network of community partner agencies and direct food distribution programs serving individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
The food bank says there will not be a separate eligibility requirement specifically for receiving eggs. Eligibility will follow the existing requirements established for the San Antonio Food Bank’s food distribution programs and participating partner agencies. Distribution quantities may be adjusted as needed based on inventory, product availability, and food safety considerations.
More than 1.7 million eggs have already been delivered to Texas food banks, withanother5.322 millionscheduled for deliveryin the coming weeks, Paxton said.
In June 2026, Paxton secured settlements with Cal-Maine Foods, Centrum/Versova, and Hickman’s Egg Ranch. These settlements resolved antitrust claims broughtby the Trump Administration’s Department of Justice and other state attorneys general that stemmed from an alleged conspiracy to inflate egg prices between 2022 and 2025.
Under the agreements, the companies will donate 7 million eggs to Texas food banks. Additionally, the companies will pay a combined $3.3 million to participating states.
These ongoing deliveries are being coordinated in partnership withFeeding Texas, which is the largest hunger-relief organization in Texas.
