SAN ANTONIO – After her children were shot during Thanksgiving dinner, a San Antonio mother has spent the last five years raising her grandchildren as the triple murder case has gone cold.
Eashonne Wolford was there on the night when the bullets from a drive-by shooting riddled her family’s home.
Eashonne’s sons, Charles Wolford, 28, and Eugene Hodge, 25, died that Thanksgiving night in 2021.
Her daughter, Shanobea Wolford, 31, was paralyzed from the waist down, but later passed away from her injuries.
Since then, Eashonne has turned her home into a memorial, filled with flowers, photos and more, keeping her children’s memories alive.
“Not seeing my kids that are supposed to be there and are not there anymore. I’m bitter. Yeah, I’m bitter. Because I need justice,” Eashonne said.
“Right now, I have five grandkids in my custody,” she said. “They motivate me. They are my strength to keep going. Living without your kids is hell, but I still have to get through with God. My question to the people who did this: ‘Why did you disturb my nest? Turn yourself in.’ If I have to beg, I will beg. I can forgive, but I won’t forget what they have done to me.”
