Southeast Texas comedians will get their moment in the spotlight this weekend when “Tomato, Tomahto” brings up to 10 local acts together with nationally touring comedian Donna Lee at 8 p.m. Saturday, according to Southeast Texas Stages.

The comedy showcase is set for 4155 Laurel Ave. in Beaumont and is billed as a way to highlight homegrown talent before Lee closes out the night, according to the release. Local comedians will share stories and humor reflecting the region before Lee takes the stage with what organizers describe as her polished delivery and punchlines, according to Southeast Texas Stages.

Aspiring comedians who want to perform can sign up starting at 7:30 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the release. Participation is free, and organizers say it gives local comics a chance to perform and potentially open for a nationally touring act, according to Southeast Texas Stages.

Tickets for the audience are $10 and available now at www.setxs.org, according to the release. The show is expected to carry a PG-13 rating, according to Southeast Texas Stages.
