Prepare to see pink buses traveling on Hemphill Street when Trinity Metro’s new color-coded route debuts next week.
The unveiling of La Línea Rosa — a Latino-themed rebranding of Route 1 — will be at 10 a.m. Sept. 15 at La Gran Plaza de Fort Worth, one of the transit agency’s most popular destinations.
The service from Fort Worth Central Station to the mall, 4200 South Freeway, will begin the morning of Sept. 16 as the festive fleet rolls into action, officials said. The route and its schedule will not change although the service will begin operating out of bus bay A at the downtown station, 1001 Jones St.
Trinity Metro officials said great transit options have the power to bring the community closer and introduce people to places they may not visit otherwise.
“La Línea Rosa reflects how we can use mobility to bring greater visibility to the businesses, neighborhoods, institutions and destinations that make downtown Fort Worth, Near Southside, Hemphill and La Gran Plaza such important parts of our city,” said Rich Andreski, president and CEO of Trinity Metro. “We don’t simply serve this community; we are part of it, and we want to help it thrive.”
Jeff Davis, board chair of Trinity Metro, said that transportation can be transformative to users.
“La Línea Rosa simplifies the rider experience,” Davis said. “It’s another ‘brick in the wall’ to use a line from Pink Floyd.”
Officials said the new pink-colored buses will feature creative exterior designs that showcase the Hispanic heritage of the Near Southside District and the busy Hemphill corridor. The debut coincides with the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce national conference in Fort Worth Sept. 14-16, as well as the start of Hispanic Heritage Month observations around the country.

La Línea Rosa is the third color-coded bus rebranding intended to simplify transit routes while celebrating Fort Worth’s neighborhoods. Since 2024, Trinity Metro has rebranded two other bus routes with signature colors — Orange Line runs from downtown to the Fort Worth Stockyards, and the free Blue Line, funded by Visit Fort Worth and Downtown Fort Worth Inc., travels through the city core.
The Route 1 rebranding was announced at the Visit Fort Worth annual meeting in the spring.
La Gran Plaza Transfer Station, located outside the mall facing Seminary Drive, offers riders transfers to four bus lines, including routes 25, 29, 33 and 72. It is the second-busiest destination in Fort Worth, Andreski said.
Other color-coded lines proposed by the transit agency include the Green Line for a west side route to the Fort Worth Zoo, officials said.
