Kitten rescued 20 feet down utility pipe to be adopted by good Samaritan who found him

One lucky kitten has found its soon-to-be forever home after a good Samaritan noticed the furry feline had become stuck 20 feet down a utility pipe in Texas.

El Paso Animal Services said in a Facebook post this week that they were called to an area near communication towers after a community member noticed a kitten trapped inside a utility pipe.

Officials said the kitten made his way 20 feet down into the pipe, where he was surrounded by collected rainwater and trash.

“He was scared and desperately needed help to get out,” the rescue wrote.

A rope was carefully lowered into the pipe, giving the kitten something to grab onto. Once the kitten was able to hang on, he was carefully raised back up to higher ground.

El Paso Animal Services said that after the kitten was brought to the shelter, cleaned up, and evaluated, the good Samaritan who contacted officials for help said they would adopt him.

The kitten is now in a foster-to-adopt home, where officials said he is getting “a safe place to grow, a family to care for him, and lots of love.”

“A kitten who started his life in a dark pipe is now getting the chance to grow up surrounded by love. And honestly, we can’t think of a better ending than that,” the post said.
