LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – For the third-straight week, the Estacado Matadors turned in a high-scoring performance as they downed the winless Snyder Tigers 61-0 on “Thursday Night Throwdown”.
The Mats have averaged 53.33 points in their first three games, and could have had more if they hadn’t eased up in the second half. EHS ended the first quarter up 27-0, followed with a 41-0 lead at the half.
Defensively, they showed great improvement by posting a shutout- six days after allowing 50 points in last week’s win at Sweetwater. Next Friday, the Matadors will try to go 4-0 as they take on the Big Spring Steers.
The Tigers will look for their first victory since 2024 as they host the Andrews Mustangs.
