Art Boost is hosting its fourth annual conference Sept. 11-12 at the Latino Cultural Center.
Founded by Lake Highlands High School alum Leslie Sakal, this year’s conference, titled “Find Your Breakthrough,” is designed for artists who have hit a wall and are looking for a clear next step.
The conference kicks off Friday night at 6:30 p.m. with two keynote speakers and a live performance.
Jon Flaming, a Dallas painter who works in a neo-regionalist style, is one of the event’s keynote speakers. His paintings are held in the permanent collections of the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth and the Booth Western Art Museum in Georgia.
The second keynote speaker is Will Evans, founder, CEO and publisher of Deep Vellum, a Dallas independent press that brings international literature to English-language audiences.
The second day of the conference will feature nine sessions covering topics including financial literacy for artists, marketing and branding, and more.
Tickets to attend the conference are available through the Art Boost website.
