All southbound lanes of Dallas North Tollway before Park Boulevard in Plano are closed following a collision that took place around 2 p.m. Friday afternoon.
A public alert was issued instructing drivers to take the Parker Road exit, avoiding the area and preventing further congestion. Traffic is currently backed up on the tollway from Legacy Drive to Park Boulevard, according to the Texas Department of Transportation’s live traffic tracker.
The number of vehicles involved and the cause of the accident remains unknown. The Plano Police Department is advising motorists to stay away from the 4700 block of East 14th Street and the 6400 block of Independence Parkway due to high traffic volumes.
Plano police suggests drivers take alternate routes while emergency services respond to the affected areas.
