Texas and Ohio State officially kick off at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, September 12.
DraftKings Predictions is legal in Texas as each “bet” is classified as a financial exchange contract, according to AL.com. Those contracts are bought and sold by users, rather than with a traditional sports bookmaker. Financial exchange contracts are regulated at the federal level by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), allowing them to bypass state regulations.
Texans are still unable to use DraftKings Sportsbook as by state law traditional sports gambling is illegal under Texas Penal Code 47.02.
