WEEKEND FORECAST
Saturday is expected to be the hottest day of the forecast period. A Heat Advisory is in effect from noon through 7 p.m. Saturday for areas generally along and east of the I-35 corridor.

Most of the region will remain dry, but a few isolated showers or thunderstorms could develop Saturday afternoon, especially along the Coastal Plains and near the Highway 77 corridor. Storm chances farther north toward the I-35 corridor and Hill Country remain low, but we’ll keep an eye on trends through the day.

Sunday will bring a slight dip in temperatures, but it will still be very hot. Heat index values could again approach advisory levels, particularly east of I-35 toward the Coastal Plains. A spotty shower or storm will be possible Sunday afternoon.
NEXT WEEK
Unfortunately, cooler weather isn’t showing up anytime soon. High pressure will remain firmly in control through much of next week, keeping skies mostly dry and temperatures well above average. A few late-afternoon showers or thunderstorms will remain possible near the Coastal Plains, but most locations should stay dry.
Eventually, the seasons will change — but for now, South Texas will have to stay patient. The heat isn’t ready to let go just yet.
