BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A man was arrested Friday in connection with a deadly hit-and-run investigation in southeast Bexar County, according to the sheriff’s office.
In a news conference, a BCSO spokesperson identified the suspect as Eduardo Eric Pina, 24.
Pina was charged with collision involving death, which is considered a second-degree felony, BCSO said.

A man’s decomposed body was found on Aug. 26, 2026, in a field in the 8500 block of Hildebrandt Road.
People outside cutting grass told deputies about the man, later identified as 37-year-old Edward Eugene Finex, in the field.
Authorities later collected debris at the scene after the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office determined there was a collision that led to Finex’s death.
The sheriff’s office matched the debris to a Ford F-150 between 2004 and 2008. Investigators identified matching vehicles through surveillance footage.
Authorities also obtained a license plate number from the cameras in other law enforcement vehicles, the spokesperson said.
Deputies attempted to locate an F-150 on Friday to see if there was damage to it. The truck’s registered owner told investigators that he had already sold the vehicle, the spokesperson said.
The registered owner provided BCSO with information that led to Pina’s arrest, according to the spokesperson.
Pina told BCSO that he was traveling home and thought he had hit an animal, the sheriff’s office said. He later returned to the crash scene and said he did not find anything.
Pina did not take any further action, failing to report the incident, according to the sheriff’s office.
