The park in San Antonio, Texas, formally announced Barracuda Strike on Oct. 14, 2025, after teasing a new family thrill ride on Sept. 26.

Barracuda Strike will be a suspended roller coaster, with ride trains underneath the coaster track. The attraction will reach speeds of 44 mph and will feature a 90-foot lift hill. Barracuda Strike will have a height requirement of 42 inches.

Barracuda Strike is manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M), a SeaWorld representative confirmed with Attractions Magazine.

SeaWorld says Barracuda Strike will include “theming inspired by the barracuda’s speed and agility.”

“Barracuda Strike is a game-changer for family thrill rides, and we are excited to bring another great roller coaster to our guests in the spring of 2026,” said Jeff Davis, SeaWorld San Antonio Park President. “It will be fast, fierce, and fun—bringing guests closer to the ocean’s energy and mystery in a way only SeaWorld can.”

Recent additions to SeaWorld San Antonio include the Catapult Falls launched flume coaster (which opened in 2024) and the Rescue Jr. kids area (which displaced the park’s “Sesame Street” branding).
