The Salvation Army is also looking for bell ringers for this holiday season.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Salvation Army in Corpus Christi is getting ready for the holidays but it needs volunteers to help bring the spirit of Christmas to life.

Volunteers are needed for its Red Kettle campaign and Angel Tree programs to ensure families across the city can experience the joy and hope of the season.

A Red Kettle campaign is the annual Christmas season fundraiser for The Salvation Army, where volunteers stand by iconic red kettles outside stores to collect donations.

The Angel Tree project is a charity program that provides gifts to children and families in need during the Christmas season. Individuals or groups can adopt an “angel” by choosing a gift tag from a Christmas tree, which has a child’s name, age, clothing size, and wish list, and then purchasing the items for that child.

Salvation Army is also in need of bell ringers.

Bell Ringer Volunteer Details:
Dates: November 15 – December 24, Monday – Saturday
How to volunteer: Visit RegisterToRing.com and follow the prompts to sign up for the location and shift of your choice or if you are interested in volunteering, contact Jonathan Gonzalez at 361-884-9497 or Jonathan.Gonalez@uss.salvationarmy.org or Andre.Gwinn@uss.salvationarmy.org.

The Salvation Army will provide gifts for 1,080 children through the Angel Tree program this year. Volunteer activities include working at Angel Tree adoption locations, sorting gifts and participating in the gift distribution day for registered families.

Churches and businesses can also host an Angel Tree to bring joy and holiday cheer to children in the community.
