SAN ANTONIO — A 70-year-old man was detained Saturday night after telling police officers he shot a woman inside a residence on the city’s South Side.
According to San Antonio police, officers responded around 7:56 p.m. in the 8500 block of South Presa Street. The suspect called police before they arrived to say the victim was bothering him.
Officers found the suspect outside the home, where he told them he had shot a 62-year-old woman inside.
Police detained the suspect and entered the house, where they discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS was called to the scene, but the woman died from her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identities of the suspect and victim had not been released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
