Avelo Airlines plans to relocate its planes from Hobby Airport to George Bush Intercontinental Airport next week, according to local airport officials.

Avelo has flown out of Hobby Airport since its first Houston flight took off in 2024 and will transition between the airports on Sept. 21. The airline is headquartered in Houston and aims to offer low fares from “convenient airports,” according to its website.

The announcement appeared on both Houston airports’ Facebook pages last week, but it did not say why the move was happening. The Houston Airport System and Avelo Airlines did not immediately return a request for comment.

“Avelo Airlines has a new Houston home,” one of the announcement posts reads.
