“She’s just been a wonderful supporter,” the late Bob McNair said in a one-minute video that played during the tribute. “She treats people well, cares about people. She likes to raise people up, not knock them down, and always a positive attitude. That’s a great asset for me to have.”

Janice was known for her philanthropy, starting with The Robert and Janice McNair Foundation that invested millions of dollars into various programs across the city and the Houston Texans Foundation, which raised $50 million in two-plus decades.

“Helping others, that’s the biggest thrill,” Janice said in the pregame video.

After the video, that included Janice welcoming head coach DeMeco Ryans back to Houston when he was hired as the Texans head coach in 2023, Grammy-award winning soprano Nancy Curtis sang “Amazing Grace” followed by a moment of silence.

Throughout the season, the Texans will play with “RCM-JSM” patches on their jerseys as tribute to Robert and Janice McNair, who are also both in the team’s Ring of Honor.
