Retailers were hit by theft at The Shops at Willow Bend ahead of the planned redevelopment of the site for the Dallas Stars.
Cutlery Collection, which sells knives and related services, and Pipe & Palette, an art-focused event business, suffered burglaries sometime after closing on Sunday and again Monday morning, according to the business owners.
Cutlery Collection lost more than $50,000 in product inventory, according to Karl Monk, the shop’s owner. Pocket knives and some swords were among the items taken. That also included shaving brushes and razors.
“I’ve got a legitimate suit of armor in my window,” Monk said. “His name is Rusty, and they took his helmet. I’ve got a suit of armor with no helmet now.”
