FBI: Man accused of stabbing nurse in TMC parking garage now faces federal kidnapping, carjacking charges

  • September 15, 2026

HOUSTON – The man accused of attacking and stabbing a nurse inside a Texas Medical Center parking garage now faces federal kidnapping and carjacking charges, according to the FBI’s Houston office.

Perry Bernard Green, 46, is accused of attacking a woman with a knife inside a parking garage at the Texas Medical Center on May 11, 2026.

The FBI Houston office announced Tuesday that Green now faces the federal charges. The agency said it continues to target violent criminals in the Houston community. Additional details about the federal case were not immediately released.

What prosecutors previously alleged

Green was previously charged in Harris County with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon in connection with the attack.

According to court documents and prosecutors, the victim was a Houston Methodist employee who was attacked on Level 5 of Garage 1.

During a court hearing in May, prosecutors alleged Green restrained the woman with zip ties and stabbed her multiple times. The victim suffered injuries to her chest, face, shoulder, hands, armpit, ankle and forearm, according to prosecutors, and was later treated at Memorial Hermann Hospital.

Investigators also alleged Green threatened to kill the woman if she continued fighting back.

Attorneys said the victim was eventually able to escape by using her feet to open the passenger-side door of the vehicle before pulling herself out and running for help.

Green’s defense attorney, Joe Vinas, previously said the case was still in its early stages.

“Obviously, the accusations are serious, but we’re just right at the beginning of it,” Vinas said at the time. “I’ll get what the state has, look into their investigation, conduct any investigation of mine that needs to be done, and then we’ll proceed from there.”
