Dallas County is rolling out a $1 million voter education campaign ahead of the November 3rd general election to clear up questions about voting in the county. Officials say digital and radio ads before Texas’ Oct. 5 voter registration deadline will explain the state’s voter suspense list and changes to mail-in voting. A second phase before November 3rd, will add mailers, texts, and TV, radio, and digital ads to remind voters Dallas County has returned to the vote-anywhere system. County officials say the effort is meant to boost turnout after primary-day confusion, when at least 12,000 voters were turned away and rerouted to neighborhood precincts. Dallas County will return to vote-anywhere voting in the general election, while voters on the suspense list must confirm their address and may still cast a ballot if they live in the county.
