SAN ANTONIO – A man has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after killing his cellmate in 2019.

According to the Bexar County District Attorney, in May 2019, blood was found seeping from under a jail door during a routine cell check.

Alexander Wise was found on the floor unresponsive with severe facial injuries. Shandrick Muckley, Wise’s cellmate, was found guilty of the murder by a jury, which imposed an automatic sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Buckley had previously been arrested for a fatal beating near Haven for Hope in August of 2017. 55-year-old Jose Gustavo Hernandez was found near railroad tracks in the area with severe head trauma.
