Dallas-Fort Worth will see temperatures near 100 degrees Thursday and an elevated wildfire threat for the remainder of this week, but relief from the heat could be on the way.
The National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office said in its Wednesday afternoon forecast that triple-digit temperatures are expected to continue into the weekend. However, a heat advisory for Thursday has been not been issued, as of Wednesday afternoon.
Thursday’s high is expected to top out around 100 degrees, with the heat index, or “feels like temperature,” nearing 105 degrees. Nighttime temperatures are forecast to drop into the mid- to low-90s, according to the weather service.
The region’s elevated wildfire threat is also expected to continue Thursday, primarily impacting Dallas-Fort Worth’s western region. Saturday is forecast to be the “most concerning” day for fire weather, as wind speeds are expected to increase, according to the weather service.
