EAGLE PASS, Texas — A woman wanted in El Paso on a charge of collision involving death was arrested Thursday at a U.S. border crossing after fleeing to Mexico, law enforcement officials said.
Melanie Christine Cuellar, 29, was apprehended without incident at U.S. Port of Entry No. 2 by Eagle Pass Police Department officers assigned to the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
Authorities said Cuellar had reportedly absconded to Mexico while facing an active arrest warrant out of El Paso. After her arrest at the port of entry, officers transported her to the Tom Bowles Detention Center, where she is being held pending extradition proceedings back to El Paso County.
