For the first time in two years, Sam Houston is getting to experience the comforts of home.
Last week’s loss to Tulsa was the first home game the Bearkats played in Huntsville since 2024 because of renovations to Bowers Stadium. Sam Houston (0-2) will try to break into the win column again this week when it hosts Nicholls (2-1).
The meeting is the first between the teams since March 2021, when a spring schedule was played because of the coronvarius pandemic impacting the 2020 season. Sam Houston leads the series 23-11-1 and has won 13 of the past 14 meetings.
