HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A man was found dead underneath an underpass in northwest Harris County on Thursday night, according to investigators from the sheriff’s office.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to the 18200 block of Homestead Road at about 9 p.m. Deputies said that when they arrived, they found the man “in a state of decomposition.” Authorities said EMS also responded to the scene, where they confirmed the man was dead.
Investigators said that before deputies were called, another man was walking in the area and found the body. The man then reportedly went to a store and told the clerk, who then called HCSO.
Officials did not immediately reveal the victim’s identity. Investigators said they did not see any apparent injuries, adding that more information would come from an autopsy.
HCSO said the incident remains under investigation. Authorities said anyone with information about this case is urged to call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 713-274-9100 or CrimeStoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
