Catholic Charities – Archdiocese of San Antonio is launching a new fundraiser aimed at expanding a workforce development program that teaches sewing skills and helps participants move toward employment or entrepreneurship.

The organization will host its first-ever The Launch luncheon benefiting Sewing for Success on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Oak Hills Country Club, 5403 Fredericksburg Road, San Antonio, TX 78229.

Catholic Charities said Sewing for Success equips participants with “valuable sewing skills and hands-on techniques,” with the goal of helping them pursue meaningful employment opportunities or start their own small businesses. The program provides hands-on training and practical experience intended to build skills that can lead to greater independence and long-term success.

The luncheon will include lunch, a raffle and the chance to purchase handcrafted items made by workforce development participants. Catholic Charities said proceeds will support the continued development of the Sewing for Success program.

Catholic Charities said it is working with community partners including SAS Shoes, Richter Goods and Jon Hart.

“By supporting Sewing for Success, you are helping participants build skills, confidence, and new opportunities for their futures,” said Ada Saenz, Catholic Charities’ president and CEO.
