At this time, SAPD has not located or identified the driver
SAN ANTONIO – A man died after a hit-and-run crash overnight on the East Side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
Officers responded to a crash involving a car and a pedestrian around 2 a.m. Friday in the 800 block of Dawson Street.
Upon arrival, officers were told that a driver traveling westbound in a 2017 Kia Sorento at a high rate of speed struck the man, SAPD said.
After the crash, officers said the driver fled and later collided with a parked vehicle on North Olive Street. He later abandoned the car and fled on foot, police said.
At this time, SAPD has not located or identified the driver.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the identity of the pedestrian, as well as their cause and manner of death.
SAPD said its investigation is ongoing. Further information was not readily available.
